Miss East Africa UK 2010 Ethiopian contestant Beth needs your support to take the crown home on 3rd July at Central Hall Westminster

My name is Bethlehim Belay I’m Ethiopian born and raised-up in Addis Ababa, I studied travel and tourism and currently pursuing my higher education in hospitality Management. I’m a group coordinator and co-founding member of “Raey Entertainment Group”. I play Amharic theatre and short dramas, in addition to this, moving on to organise poetry and entertaining evenings with the group. I do modelling, performing arts and participate on seasonal projects with Pan Intercultural Art group.

I’m hard working, self motivated and self improver with a principle “everyday is a learning process”. I love children, charity work, swimming, modelling, acting, walking, reading and enjoying music.

Inspired by the creative industry from running up cultural and charitable fashion shows to catwalk for high street fashion, I realised my ability that I can bring the Ethiopian unique and unseen tradition and culture to the world of fashion industry and high street stores. I aspire to run my business venture by trading clothes, accessories and souvenirs from Ethiopia adapting new style, trends using my own creativity and provide a quality product and service by bringing a mixture cultural and modern flair of East Africa.

I have a great passion to work closely with the crafts men (weavers and tailors) back home who does the hardest job but gain almost nothing. I strive to create independent entrepreneurship and employment and get them recognised for their hard work therefore they can lead a sustainable business.

Most of all I love to give back to my community!! “Dare to reach out your hand to the darkness to pull another hand into the light” Norman B. Rice. I’m currently supporting a single mother and her twin children in Ethiopia, whose life was at risk to be on street, I organised for friends to contribute fund every month to support them with the essentials food, cloth and shelter and promised to sponsor the children until they finish their education. However, my ultimate goal is to make this family have a sustainable life and support others with the same situation. “The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own” Benjamin Disraeli.

My genuine desire for participating in Miss East Africa beauty pageant comes from my wish to help the charities that Miss & Mr East Africa UK are supporting.  It was always my dream to support children in Africa. Therefore, I took this opportunity to show my positive responsiveness for African children who are in need and would like to continue working alongside Miss East Africa and make a positive change in my native country Ethiopia.

I would like for people to vote for me because this is my starting point, I am on the platform and can see the doors open with wide opportunity. I want to start small and grow big to reach to the longest journey of success. I am confident, optimistic and have a great charisma to fulfil my dream.

I need your vote to take this prestigious crown and start living my dream on 3rd July at Central Hall Westminster. Please buy your voting ticket and come and support me.
